Johnny Landers aka Ampload has been a fixture on the house music scene for many years now. Before getting his break he produced a couple of tracks in the early 90’s, one at Noisegate Studios in Denmark Street and the other at Monroe Productions on Holloway road. He made his debut in 96 at the legendary Cross nightclub.
After this opportunity Johnny went from strength to strength gaining residencies at all the major clubs of the time. Including the Cross and Velvet Underground, AKA, The End.
Johnny then ventured over to Ibiza where he gained residence at Pacha. He played in the El Cielo room aka The Funky Room. His nights included Subliminal Sessions, Ministry of Sound and Def Mix. This meant Johnny played with the best of best of that time Including Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Masters at Work to name a few.
Johhny also became the one of the original residents at Pacha London when it first opened and stayed for 2 years. He also became a resident for Subliminal Sessions playing with Erick Morillo, Jose Nunez, Richard F etc.. At this time Johnny was on Jazzy M’s radio show as new emerging underground talent. He also gained a residence at Egg london and still had one at the Cross.
In the past decade or so Johnny has been across the globe playing in many cities. Bangkok, Sydney, Hong Kong to name a few. For a few years he was in a DJ partnership with Martin Ikin who is the main man at Soul Purpose. They played at some top venues even becoming residents at the now closed Supper Club when it was at its peak. Also guesting on Pointblank Radio once a month with Martin Ikin and Jak Smoothe. In the past year Johnny has been guesting a lot as well as doing Def MIx at Ministry of Sound.
After a couple of years out Johnny has been back producing and looking forward to the future. He has a new release coming out on Mental Genius Recordings and now has his own brand called Ampload.
